Hardcovers. Large 8vo. Three volumes (complete). xviii + 490pp & xiv + 566pp & xii + 360pp. Original taupe cloth spines with beige papered boards, silver titling to spine, bibliographies, indexes. Eliade was Sewell L. Avery Distinguished Professor Emeritus of History of Religions at the University of Chicago Divinity School, and is widely known on account of the 150 books that he wrote, co-authored, or edited. These three volumes "allows the reader to share in the full sweep of Eliade's vision of the religions of the East and West", paying particular attention to heresies, folk beliefs, and cults of secret wisdom such as alchemy and sorcery. Light rubbing and bruising to spine ends, edges and corners. A few light marks from use, otherwise a tight, bright Near fine set in VG dust jackets. (Dust jackets lightly chafed at edges, browning to inner flaps, a few creases - mostly Vol. III, Vol. II only price clipped). These volumes were issued separately, thus scarce in a complete set - particularly in hardcover.
