Spine darkened and rubbed at edges and ends with some chipping particularly at upper spine. Cloth faintly spotted, edges rubbed and corner lightly bumped. Light damp spotting to particularly the lower margins, paper browned, and another previous owner's name and date (1934) on upper edge of title page. Overall a near VG copy.

Hardcover, small quarto, xvi + 112pp (+ blanks) Original off-white cloth spine with decorated papered boards. Paper title labels to spine and front board. Color frontis, black and white designs etc in-text, rubricated capitals throughout. First Edition limited to 250 copies numbered copies signed by the Frater Achad on the limitation page. This copy signed, and numbered 47. The third major Kabbalistic work by Frater Achad (Charles Stansfeld Jones - 1886-1950), one time student of Aleister Crowley. With the occult-themed bookplate of Charles Asa Muzzy: an individual who was quite involved in esoteric circles at the time - he was a member of the G.B.G. and Choronzon Club, corresponded with C. F. Russell, etc. Spine somewhat darkened and with a one-eighth of an inch rubbed patch at the head, paper spine label chipped around the edges. Soft paper covering of the boards rubbed through to the board at the extremes of the points. A few pages have a couple of brown spots, and a little faint yellowing. Overall a VG copy (no dustjacket, none issued)

Limited numbered edition - this copy not numbered. By Frater Albertus Spagyricus (Dr. Richard Albert Riedel, 1911–1984); founder of the Paracelsus Research Society in Salt Lake City. The book comprises material on cyclic patterns, cosmic rays, cosmic cycles, daily cycles, the Tree of Life, the use of color and sound, etc as taught in the curriculum of the Paracelsus College. Lacking title page, front blank endpaper somewhat jaggedly excised, front hinge cracked but holding, some nibbles at front inner hinge. Hardcover, 8vo, [ii] + xvi + 236pp [+ xvipp. catalog] One engraved illustration. Nineteenth century half leather with raised bands and leather spine label with gilt title over marbled boards. All edges gilt, marbled endpapers. An attractive early edition of this study by John Aubrey (1626-97). Despite the book's rather ambiguous title - 'Miscellanies' - the contents are made clear by its lengthy subtitle, and by the 'Introductory Title' 'A Collection of Hermetick Philosophy' which appears on page one. Aubrey was fascinated by the occult and supernatural, and 'Miscellanies' is a broad-ranging study, with sections on auspicious and inauspicious dates, omens, communications with angels, magick etc. as well as a study of ‘second sight’ (the ability to foresee future events through divine inspiration) reputed to be the first to be in print. Spine and edges a little rubbed, a few minute chips from title labels, neat bookplate on front pastedown, first blank nearly detached, otherwise a tight, clean, VG+ copy in attractive early binding.
