Bound collection of the first volume of twelve issues of this scarce periodical which includes essays by various authors, poetry, letters, book reviews and other related material. The editor and chief contributor, Frederick Henry Haines (1869-1944) was a British insurance broker who embraced Spiritualism during the First World War, and gained prominence in the field. Starting in the 1920s he began to receive texts via automatic writing, and became a popular lecturer on the subject, also founding the Watford Christian Spiritualist Fellowship. He contributed to a number of psychical and spiritualist journals, and published a large number of books including "Thus saith Celphra : a spirit revelation" (1928); A voice from heaven. The return of 'G.V.O.'" (1932); "Thro' a glass darkly; or, The secrets of death" (1935); and his autobiography "Nothing But the Truth: The Confessions of a Medium" (1931). He founded, edited, and was one of the main contributors to "Spiritual Vision". Sadly like many Spiritualist journals information about it is extremely scarce, although we know that it reached at least Volume VI, the last issue of which was published in 1939. How much longer it continued is unknown, but like most such journals it seems unlikely to have lasted beyond the first year of the war due to paper shortaqes. Cloth lightly rubbed and darkened with some light marks from handling and use, corners and spine ends bruised and chafed, page edges darkened and thumbed, owner's name on front blank, pages toned, unmarked. Overall a tight, clean VG example of this scarce periodical. Item #51565
