The Chalice of Ecstasy. Being a Magical and Qabalistic Intrepretation of the Drama of Parzival by a Companion of the Holy Grail.

Chicago, IL: Yogi Publication Society, 1923. First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo. xii + 82pp. Maroon cloth with gilt titling to spine and upper board. A "magical and qabalistic interpretation" of Wagner's Parzival, and the myths upon which it is based, by Frater Achad (Charles Stansfeld Jones, 1886-1950), one time student of Aleister Crowley. In it Achad makes comparisons with "Liber AL vel Legis" and it is known to be the only book by Achad to which Crowley gave unreserved approval, probably not least because it draws largely upon his own work and thought. Head and tail of spine and points bruised & a little rubbed, corners lightly chafed, faint discolouration to endpapers, pages toned but unmarked. Overall, a tight, clean VG+ copy. Item #63044
