Original black cloth with gilt title to spine, red borders and device to upper board, index. Translated from the Hamburg Edition of 1676 and edited with a Biographical Preface. Edward Kelly (1555-1595) is more widely remembered for his role as John Dee's 'skryer' than as an alchemist, and there is some uncertainty as to whether he actually authored the works here attributed to him. (Gilbert B 11). This copy has been professionally rebacked with sympathetic cloth - preserving about 80% of the original spine and both boards; fresh endpapers. Corners bumped and chafed, page edges a bit darkened, pages toned but unmarked. Overall a tight, clean VG copy. Scarce. Item #63278
