The first US edition of the English translation and commentary of the mediaeval Latin alchemical treatise "Aurora Consurgens" (Rising Dawn), a work sometimes attributed to Thomas Aquinas. Following the translation there is a psychological commentary by the eminent Jungian Marie-Lousie Von Franz, who views the work as an important companion to Jung's own alchemical study, "Mysterium Coniunctionis." Edges lightly rubbed, spine ends lightly bruised and rubbed, page edges lightly thumbed, penciled note on front blank, light pencil notes on less than 20 pages (easily erased), otherwise a tight, clean VG+ copy in VG dust jacket (Dust jacket a bit discoloured overall.
