Item #15034 One Hundred Cases for Survival After Death. A. T. BAIRD.

One Hundred Cases for Survival After Death.

New York, NY: Bernard Ackerman, 1944. Second Printing. Hardcover. Large octavo. 224pp. Red cloth lettered in black on spine & front board. A collection of 100 cases illustrative of continued life after death compiled from a number of the best-known and more reputable works of psychical research. According to the author, the book was intended as a popular account meant to illustrate "the strength of the case for survival of human personality after bodily death…." In fact its scope seems to have been broader, as it covers most of the phenomena associated with Spiritualism and of psychical research, with chapters on: Dreams, Haunted Houses, Apparitions, Death-Bed Visions, Automatic Writing, Trance Phenomena, Cross-Correspondence, Book-Tests, Proxy Sittings, Direct-Voice Phenomena and Materializations. Well referenced, with Index of Cases and Biblography. Corners bumped, spine ends bruised and a bit chafed, top-edge lightly browned, tape-marks to both pastedowns, otherwise a solid, clean VG copy (no dust jacket). Item #15034
