An early edition of this detailed study of the legends and lore of Spain, by James Lewis Thomas Chalmers Spence (1874 - 1955), Scottish journalist, folklorist, and author of a number of works on the occult and British folk-lore. Cloth, corners and edges slightly rubbed; top edge darkened; light uneven browning to endpages. Overall, a tight and clean better than VG copy in VG- example of the scarce illustrated dust jacket. (Dust jacket is slightly darkened and overall - more so at spine, all edges and extremities lightly creased and chipped, half inch loss at upper spine, several closed tears, ragged closed tear at lower front fold with some damp effect and rippling, not price clipped.
