The work includes a vast amount of material on classical mythology (which of course formed the basis of many of the decorations) as well as on the archaeological researches which uncovered the objects studied. Spines very slightly darkened and lightly chafed at head and foot with a few tiny tears to spine ends of Vol. I, corners bruised and lightly rubbed, faint flecking to cloth at edges of boards.
