Layard's classic account of his explorations and excavations in the ancient Assyrian cities of Nimrud, Nineveh etc. Boards a little chafed especially at extremities; a bit of light chipping and fraying at spine ends and corners, corners bumped; spine of Vol. II lightly sunned; small Harvard College Library stamps to upper edge of front pastedown but no other marks; occasional spotting, browning and light scattered foxing throughout; otherwise a sound and unmarked about VG set.
