The author, Elias Gewurz (1875-1947) was a Polish-American member of the Theosophical Society who took a particular interest in the Kabbalah. The present volume was first published in 1918, and collects the text of ten lectures, most of which were presented to the Krotona Lodge in 1915. It closes with a Qabalistic Prayer. Contents: The Vessel In Which Transmutation Takes Place; The Feminine Elements In Man And Their Redeeming Power; Spiritual Companionship Between Man and Woman; The Knowledge of God Obtained Through Love Pure and Undefiled; The Mystery Of Time And Space; The Peace That Passes Understanding; Justice and Mercy; On The Threshold Of The Sanctuary; The Eternal Light According To The Qabalah; Regeneration According To The Qabalah; Qabalistic Prayer. A contemporary reviewer noted: "Mr. Gewurz is a devoted scholar of this ancient wisdom of the Rabbis, and his book presents in a very attractive manner many of those “hidden treasures”, revealing much of that gold of wisdom and spiritual wealth which have been sacredly garnered for ages."
