London: Privately Published, [1960]. First edition. Softcover. Folio. A single large sheet of pale grey printed card, folded to make four 13 x 8 inch 'pages.' The first page is the title, there is printed text on page two, and an original hand-colored pen and ink design incorporating various Crowleyan seals and sigils by Steffi Grant tipped onto page three (the page which faces the reader, when the folder is opened). The final page is blank save for Steffi Grant's signature. Edition limited to 100 numbered copies, of which this is No. 30. This copy signed by Steffi Grant at the bottom of the fourth page. The third of a series of ten monographs that aimed to explore different aspects of the Western occult tradition, published by Kenneth and Steffi Grant between 1959 and 1963. Original copies, as this, are extremely scarce. Unfortunately this copy has not only had a number of close encounters with an ink pot or pen, but also appears to have been near a fire, . There are scorch marks, and ink or paint stains right across the front cover, with the ink bleeding through to the inside, and offsetting lightly on the illustration. The illustration, also has scorching and ink stains at the margins, although the central motif, the universal hexagram, is largely unscathed. Sold as is. Item #34327
