The Approaching End of an Age. Viewed in the Light of History, Prophecy and Science.

London: Marshall, Morgan & Scott, ND ( circa 1940 ?). New Edition, edited and revised. Hardcover. Small 8vo. xii + 372pp. Red cloth with black title, etc. to spine and front cover, index. A work of Christian prophecy and eschatology, by Henry Grattan Guinness (1835-1910), Irish born protestant evangelist and missionary organisor. Guinness apparently ascribed to the concept of "historic premillennialism" (also called post-tribulational premillennialism), which predicts that the Second Coming will occur after the "great apostasy" and "the tribulation," which he explored in this volume. The first edition of this title was published in 1878 and subsequently thirteen times until 1897, this edition edited and revised to correspond with events that had passed since the time of its original printing. Spine lightly sunned, corners and spine ends lightly bumped and rubbed, cloth very lightly rubbed overall, contemporary bookshop sticker, page edges foxed, pages lightly browned, unmarked. Overall a tight, bright VG+ copy. Unusual. Item #39128
