The Wickedest Books in the World. Confessions of an Aleister Crowley Bibliophile.

USA: Privately Published, 2009. First Edition. Hardcover. Small folio. viii + 98pp (1pp advert). Original black cloth with gilt titling to spine and upper board, well illustrated in color. An edition limited to 1,000 copies, the first 333 copies of which are SIGNED on the half title by both Blair Blake and Danny Carey of the band Tool, the author of the book’s foreword and also a Crowley collector. Additionally this is one of the first 156 copies which was numbered by way of an "anti-consecrated page" (a single leaf: pages 281/282) carefully removed by the author from a copy of the 1922 British first impression of Crowley’s "The Diary of a Drug Fiend" (placed inside a clear envelope). An entertaining, and personal glimpse into the ways and wiles of collecting Aleister Crowley rarities by two afficianados: the Foreword is by Danny Carey, drummer with the Grammy winning band "Tool," and the text by fellow bibliophile, Blair MacKenzie Blake. From the library of English bibliophile and Aleister Crowley scholar Nicholas Bishop-Culpeper with his book-label tipped in at the front. Fine in Fine dust jacket (what looks like discoloration in the accompanying photograph is simply light reflecting on the glossy dust jacket). NOTE due to the large format of the book extra postal charges will apply. Item #39555
