The autobiography of Georges Carpentier (1894 – 1975) the French heavyweight boxer known as the "Orchid Man." He was welterweight champion of France and of Europe in 1911, middleweight champion of Europe in 1912, and in 1913 took both the light heavyweight and heavyweight champion titles in Europe. Spine a little dulled, page edges a little darkened and dusty, endpapers and first and last leaves lightly foxed. Still, overall a solid, clean better than VG copy and unusual thus. Item #40436
