This copy with the bookplate (on the front pastedown) of Denis I. Duveen (1910- 1996), the famous collector of books on chemistry and alchemy, the catalogue of whose library, entitled Bibliotheca alchemica et chemica, has become one of the standard bibliographic references on the subjects. Spine & boards (front especially) damp-affected (discoloration & slight warping), endpapers a little wrinkled and browned, but otherwise the text itself is not affected by the damp.
