Spence brings a lifetime of research to describing the origin and nature of the numerous spirits, mermaids, giants, dragons, demons, goblins and other supernatural beings believed to haunt the less frequented areas of Great Britain. From the jacket: "Embrasive of its subject and constitutes a unique and valuable reference on the Demonology of Great Britain." The author, James Lewis Thomas Chalmers Spence (1874 - 1955), was a Scottish journalist and folklorist who is now best known for his works on Atlantis and Lemuria. A hint of bruising to the corners of the boards, edges of text block a little darkened; book seller's label on front paste down. Otherwise, a tight and clean VG+ copy in VG- dust jacket.
