The Divine Renaissance - Volume 2.

London: The Order of the Cross, 1963. Third edition. Hardcover. Octavo. Volume two only (of two volumes). xxiv + 564pp + 4pp ads. Purple cloth gilt-lettered on spine, gilt lettering & symbols on front boards. Index. This is one of the works of J. Todd Ferrier (1855-1943 ) founder of The Order of the Cross, a Christian theosophical group founded in 1904. A Congregational minister born in Scotland, Ferrier read theosophical and other esoteric materials that led him to a very different understanding of the purpose and mission of Jesus. He thus ultimately resigned from the ministry in 1903 and commenced what he believed to be his life work with the issue of a new periodical, "The Herald of the Cross", which continues in publication to the present, as does the The Order of the Cross. Spine ends slightly chafed, bumps to corners of boards, gutter a little pulled at title-page, else a clean near-VG copy (no dust jacket). Item #43412
