Later (twentieth century) quarter leather binding with spines lettered & ruled in gilt, marbled paper boards. Frontispiece portrait of Nathaniel Peabody in Vol.III. Leather spines faded & lightly rubbed at ends. Discreet inked numbers on title-pages ("5787-R") on title-pages of Vols. I & II, no other markings. A little very minor foxing & discoloration to pages; Vol.I, page 115/116 has fore-edge tear intruding into text (which remains intact); Vol.II, page 213/214 has a small torn hole which affects text (about 4 words missing in total); Vol.III, pages 133/134 has a 2" fore-edge tear intruding into text (without loss to text), page 151/152 has piece torn from fore-edge margin (not affecting text).
