A series of automatic writings received by written down by Isabelle Major Evans, a South African medium, in 1930. They purport to be communications from one Benjamin Kennicott (1718 - 1793) an Oxfordshire clergyman and Hebrew scholar, and are described as "being the astonishing record of a Parson who returns from beyond the grave to tell of the special Purgatory reserved for Priests of the Church who are not sincere, also the fascinating story of his redemption. A story with a warning and a moral..." (from the jacket). A few light bumps to edges of boards. Scattered foxing, generally modest but quite heavy on the edges, endpapers, prelims & last pages. Otherwise a tight VG copy in a VG example of the scarce dust jacket (dust jacket price-clipped, a little discoloured and foxed, edges lightly chafed. Dust jacket now protected in mylar cover).
