London: John H. Watkins, 1943. Fifth (enlarged) edition. Hardcover. 12mo. 112pp. Blue cloth lettered in gilt on spine & front board. 'Deeper Issues series.' An "automatic writing" account of the after death experience and wisdom of Private Thomas Dowding, a sincere - if not terribly bright - schoolmaster who died in the First World War. This edition is considerably enlarged from earlier versions by the inclusion of two additional chapters: "Private Dowding Returns" and "The Passing of Major P". Lower spine lightly chafed, page edges darkened - otherwise a lovely clean VG+ copy in VG dust jacket (dust jacket rubbed at edges, rear panel a little foxed. Dust jacket now protected by mylar cover). Unusual in dust jacket. Scarce early edition. Item #46937
