Spiritism: The Modern Harlot - a sensational exposure - containing also instances of psychic fraud and how it is perpetrated.

London: The Scriptorium Press, ND ( 1926 ). First Edition. Softcover. Small octavo. 42pp. Original printed red wrappers printed in black. An anti-Spiritualist tract, which includes various examples of spiritualist fraud and foolishness, and descriptions of a number of sleight-of-hand tricks supposeldy used by Spiritualists (although most seem typical of stage magic). The booklet was published pseudonymously under the name "Cosmo the Mystic, the Famous Star-turn." Worldcat identifies the author as being Harry Price, but we do not know on what basis . Very scarce - Worldcat locates only 2 copies. Wrappers a little discoloured overall and somewhat faded at margins and spine, slight remains of old label on front wrapper, one inch closed tear at lower edge of upper cover, name sticker at upper corner of title page, slight rust stain from staples at inner gutters and upper cover. Still overall a solid, clean VG and complete copy. Very unusual. Item #47443
