Having lived in Syria for many years, the author here gives his account of the activities and phenomenon which he witnessed amongst the 'Darweesh' and others, which he found reminiscent of the activities of Spiritualists back in England. Cloth rubbed, spine and darkened, spine ends and corners bumped and rubbed, page-edges a bit discoloured, owner's inkstamps on endpapers & on several pages, otherwise a solid & generally clean VG copy.
