The autobiography of Annie Besant, (1847–1933) a prominent British socialist, Theosophist, women's rights activist. Besant was a prolific writer and powerful orator, who became the president of the Theosophical Society. Includes a biographical survey by George Sydney Arundale (1878–1945) who succeeded Besant as President of The Theosophical Society. Page-edges a bit darkened and with a few small marks, cloth slightly rubbed and darkened, slight browning and foxing to prelims, else a solid, internally-clean VG+ copy (no dust jacket - none issued?).
