Modern full leather binding lettered in gilt on spine; marbled endpapers. A suite of satirical illustrations (no text) mocking religious fads and faddists by the renowned British caricaturist and book illustrator George Cruikshank (1792 – 1878). Parts I.-III, are single issues, with parts IV. & V. a double issue. Each of the four issues has a separate title-page, with vignette, and one or more plates (the four issues have a total of 9 plates). These flimsy publications were originally issued in printed wrappers, but they are lacking from this set. From the collection of Dr. M. H. Coleman, with his ex-libris seal blind-stamped on the first front blank leaf. A tight, clean VG+ copy. Item #49626
