His interest in seemingly arcane sciences led to him being regarded by some as a magician, but this does not seem to have been the case in any meaningful sense. Cloth lightly faded and chafed at all edges and extremities, spine ends bruised, top-edge foxed, small ink stamp on front pastedown, else a clean VG+ copy in VG dust jacket (Dust jacket has minor chafing and creasing at edges, spine sunned, not clipped).
