The anonymous author was well known as a contributor to Spiritualist journals such as "Light" but also drew heavily not just from Theosophy, but also from other occult authors such as Eliphas Levi, Bulwer Lytton and Paracelsus. Cloth rubbed, darkened and somewhat discoloured. Spine ends and corners bruised & chafed, titling to spine well rubbed with some loss, page-edges browned, endpapers discolored, front endpaper split at inner hinge but hinge firm, owner's name in pencil on half-title page, otherwise a solid Good copy (no dust jacket).
