A biographical portrait of Maharaj Devi Sinha, which was commissioned by his successor mainly to clear Devi Sinha of the taint of wrong-doing related to the famous Warren Hastings political corruption trial. Fairly well worn with darkening to cloth, chafing to extremities, and bumps to corners and spine ends. Page edges browned, endpapers unevenly browned and a bit rippled, binder's clear tape repair to inner hinge between two front blanks, some browning to pages. Still an unmarked Good copy (no dust jacket). Quite scarce. Item #51242
