The Parapsychology Foundation is a non-profit organisation which was founded in 1951 by the noted medium Eileen J. Garrett and Frances Payne Bolton. Garrett founded the organization with the explicit purpose of scientifically proving the existence of the soul. The foundation is presently based in New York, and among other things sponsors conferences (such as the one reported on in this volume), offers grants and scholarships to those undertaking study in the paranormal, and publishes the "International Journal of Parapsychology".
