Elizabeth Louisa Moresby (1862-1931) was a British-born novelist who became the first prolific female fantasy writer in Canada; she wrote under several pseudonyms, though her most popular books were issued as by L. Adams Beck. Moresby started writing her novels, which commonly had an oriental setting, at the age of sixty. She was also a distinguished writer of esoteric works such as 'The Story of Oriental Philosophy' (1928) and 'The Splendor of Asia' (1926), and on Theosophy. Cloth a bit rubbed and darkened overall, spine darkened and a little discoloured, light wear at spine ends, else a solid, internally-clean Good copy (no dust jacket). Item #51980
