Newcomb's Graphochart of Character Analysis. The Scientific Analysis of Men and Women by a Simple and Practical Method.

Brooklyn, NY: International Graphocharts, nd [ 1921 ]. First Edition. Hardcovers. 10.25 x 5.5 inches when folded, 24 x 37.75 inches when opened. One large folded chart, printed on both sides: chart on recto, illustrations and instructions on verso. Accordion folded into cloth covered boards, dark green alligator-grain cloth, titled in gilt on upper board: "Character Analysis". A most unusual 1920s Character Analysis chart, which clearly draws on the literature of phrenology to present a grid of 128 physical characteristics and 180 character traits which is said to accurately allow the user to assess an individual's character. Very rare. Boards a bit chafed at corners, a few light marks, a few short closed tears to chart at natural folds but otherwise a remarkably fresh example of this usual chart. VG+ condition. An interesting and scarce item! Item #52141
