John Arthur Hill (1872-1951) had an interest in Spiritualism and psychical research that developed around the turn of the century, and he soon shifted from simply reading the literature of the movement to sitting with mediums. He assisted the well-known British Spiritualist Sir Oliver Lodge with his work, and became a member of the Society for Psychical Research, London, serving on its committee from 1927-1935. In this work he outlines the experiences and observations the caused him to embrace Spiritualism. Page-edges lightly browned, spine ends a little rubbed, contemporary owner's name on front free endpaper, discreet pencil marks in fore-edge margins of less than a dozen pages, otherwise a VG+ copy (no dust jacket).
