Item #53520 The Secret of Mental Magic: A Course of Seven Lessons. William Walker ATKINSON, Ramacharaka aka Edward Walker.

The Secret of Mental Magic: A Course of Seven Lessons.

London: L. N. Fowler, 1907. Hardcover. Octavo. 248pp. Green cloth lettered in gilt on spine, lettered in black on front board. First edition. A very scarce early work by Atkinson. As far as we can determine the book was not reprinted as such, but part of it was fused with a substantial section of his subsequent work "Mental Fascination" (1908) and republished as "Mind-power; The Secret of Mental Magic (1912). Chapters: "The Author's Foreword," "Mental Magic", "The Underlying Force", "Mental Suggestion", "Personal Influence", "The Science of Telementation", "Mental Therapeutics", "Mental Architecture", "Concluding Remarks." The author, William Walker Atkinson (1862 – 1932) was a prolific author, attorney, occultist, and pioneer of the New Thought movement whose penchant for writing anonymously and under numerous pseudonyms (notably Yogi Ramacharaka and Theron Q. Dumont) has left an extensive written legacy. From the collection of Dr. M. H. Coleman, with his ex-libris seal blind-stamped on the front free endpaper. Spine quite heavily leaned, spine ends rubbed, page-edges lightly toned & foxed, small discolored spots on endpapers, title-page & last pages, otherwise a solid, internally-clean near-VG copy (no dust jacket).
