A collection of essays and articles written by Conan Doyle between 1919 and 1930, all of which were revised for this publication. It comprises a long reflection on Houdini, who had died a few years earlier, and fourteen other essays, most of which pertained to ghosts, the spirit world, etc. Spine creased and spine & front board lettering dulled. Boards a little discoloured with a few light marks, lightly rubbed at edges, corners bruised and rubbed. Previous owner's name on front free endpaper and erasure on front paste down, pages and edges uniformly tanned. Contemporary bookseller's label on rear paste-down. A solid, near-VG copy (no dust jacket). Item #54589
