Written by Dion Fortune (1891-1946) one of the twentieth century's most famous occultists: a former member of the Golden Dawn who founded her own order, The Fraternity of the Inner Light. An unusual work: Dion Fortune examines Spiritualism in all its aspects: trance mediumship, clairvoyance, communication with the dead, etc., from the perspective of a practicing occultist. Faint vertical crease to thin boards which are a bit bruised at all edges and extremities, upper corners and lower spine bumped, a couple of faint dark spots to rear board - but cloth otherwise quite bright and fresh. Bookplate on pastedown, lacking final blank and rear free endpaper, pages very lightly toned - otherwise internally bright and fresh.
