Tells the story of "The House of Wonder," Hulham House in Exmouth, Devon, that specialized in the treatment of cancer, nervous diseases, etc. through therapeutic baths, herbal medicines and diet. The diagnosis and treatment were prescribed by a "spirit doctor", Dr. Beale, who gave instruction through Miss Rose, a medium. At the time many miraculous cures were said to have occurred, and the author of this book, E. M. S. (E. M. Storr), was a patient, who had been treated and cured there. Light rubbing ande bumps to edges and extremities, corners and spine ends lightly bruised, page edges and endpapers browned and a bit grubby, owner's name on front blank - otherwise a tight and unmarked better than VG copy.
