The first edition of the fourth volume of Regardie's landmark publication of the rituals and teachings of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn (or more correctly the recensions used by the Stella Matutina, the Order to which he had belonged). The volumes were issued annually, from 1937 - 1940. It is said that a number of copies of the fourth volume were destroyed in a warehouse fire - certainly there seem to be a disproportionate number of part sets of Vols. 1 - 3 around. This is a good opportunity for the owner of such a group to complete the set. Some surface scratches to rear board, edges a little dusty, Llewellyn distributor's stamp at foot of title-page, bookseller's label at based of front paste-down. Otherwise a sharp, tight clean VG + copy (no dust jacket). Item #57717
