The first edition of Hopkins' important exposition of the Prasangika-Madhyamika view of emptiness, as interpreted by the Gelugspa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The work comprises prefaratory material and six major sections: Meditation; Reasoning into Reality; The Buddhist World; Systems; Prasangika-Madhyamika; Translation: Emptiness in the Prasangika System; as well as Appendices including transcriptions of the original Tibetan texts cited. Very light general shelf wear, almost invisible ripple to spine cloth, and thin discolored patch on front board. Light bruising to corners, page edges a little darkened, still a tight, internally bright and unmarked VG+ copy in VG dust jacket (dust jacket lightly rubbed and chipped around the edges, offset from the blue cloth on the reverse side of jacket likely from some minor damp - not visible from the outside.
