Original olive cloth, with gilt titling and device to front board, and gilt titling to spine. The first volume in the "Facsimile Edition of the Nag Hammadi Codices" series, published "under the auspices of the Department of Antiquities of the Arab Republic of Egypt in conjunction with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization." This volume reproduces in photo-facsimile the pages of Codex I, along with a descriptive Preface (parallel Arabic / English text). Although it reproduces the first of the codices, and is therefore notionally the first in the series, it was actually the tenth volume in the series to be published. Merest hint of shelf wear, very light bump to upper spine - otherwise appears unread, and thus in near Fine condition (no dust jacket issued). Item #58180
