Le Crocodile ou la guerre du bien et du mal arrivée sous le règne de Louis XV. Poème épico-magique en 102 Chants; Texte Integral Authentique D'Apres L'Edition Originale de 1799.

Paris: Triades-Editions, 1962. Second Edition. Softcover. Octavo. 266pp. Original printed & illustrated wrappers with folded flaps. Index. Text in FRENCH. An unusual and important edition of this allegorical reflection on good and evil by Louis Claude de Saint-Martin (1743 - 1803), the French mystical philosopher known as "le philosophe inconnu," ("the unknown philosopher" - the pseudonym under which his works were published). Saint-Martin was for a number of years a follower of Martinez de Pasqually (1727 - 1774) and a high ranking initiate of de Pasqually's esoteric / masonic Ordre des Chevelier Maçons Élus Cohen de L'Univers, although he later pioneered his own, more mystically-inclined path. Light chafing to edges, pages toned, page edges darkened. Still a tight, clean VG+ copy. Item #58465
