A scarce publication 'by' Lauron William de Laurence (1868 - 1936), renowned book pirate, plagiarist, and publisher of occult literature. Despite his rogueish eccentricities de Laurence played an important part in the occult history of the USA: he was a pioneer in selling occult books and supplies by mail order, and the cheap "Pow Wow" books and other books of simple magic which he published were surprisingly well received, and he is still quite revered in some quarters. In this volume de Laurence covers Thought-transference, Mental Telepathy, Clairvoyance, Psychometry, Hypnotism and Spiritualism. A well used copy. Cloth rubbed & darkened and has a few marks, all edges and extremities chafed, corners, edges & spine ends bumped and bruised, text block pulled a bit between copyright and contents page, page edges darkened, pages toned with a few scattered creases and a very few pencil marks. Still overall a near-VG serviceable copy of a genuinely hard to find book. Item #58469
