An issue of this Theosophical journal with essays, reviews, correspondence, etc. This issue includes an 8 page piece by Florence Farr "A Dialogue of Vision" in which a mystical vision of ancient Egypt is presented in the form of a dialogue between two women. Florence Farr (1860 – 1917) actress and mystic who was the mistress of Bernard Shaw and close friend of W.B. Yeats. Farr was initiated into the Isis-Urania Temple of the Order of the Golden Dawn in London by Yeats in July 1890, becoming Praemonstratrix of the temple in 1894. Her books included "Egyptian Magic: Occult Mysteries in Ancient Egypt" - an essay on the nature and applications of magical practices in ancient Egypt - that was first published in 1896 as Volume VIII in the Collectanea Hermetica series, edited by W. Wynn Westcott, so she was obviously familiar with the subject. Wrappers heavily chipped, particularly at spine, much of which has flaked off, ink notes on front wrapper, occasional underlning and annotations in pencil and ink.
