The first publication of this one volume edition - limited to 750 hand numbered copies of which this is copy number 4! Originally published in Latin in 1678, The Hermetic Museum was intended as a representative collection of the significant works of alchemy, many of which were rare even then. The translation was prepared for Lord Stafford by an unidentified alchemical scholar and was revised and edited by Waite. It was first published in an edition of 250 copies in 1893 by James Elliott & Co. Old "new" stock. This volume, and a number of others we are listing, are actually brand new copies purchased by us from the stock of a retired specialist dealer. Hint of light shelf-wear, but otherwise New, and thus Fine condition in lightly rubbed near Fine dust jacket. Item #59174
