Patterned edges. Line drawings in text. A massive work on diseases, their causes, cure, and management, with some rather alarming suggestions - by modern standards. Sources suggest that it was also published under the title "Dr Hood's Plain Talks About the Human System" but we have been unable to confirm this. Covers lightly rubbed and discolored, with a small snag in the cloth at the fore-edge of the front boards and rubbing to the points. The cheap newsprint type paper-stock has browned, but is not fragile, endpaper hinges cracked but holding well. A solid VG or better copy of a massive work unlikely to be found in better condition.
