Northampton, England: Northampton : Printed by Tho. Dicey for the translator, and for J. Lackington (no. 46) Chiswell-Street, Moorfields, London. Sold also at Bristol by T. Mills, and at Leeds by J. Binns, 1780. First edition. Hardcover. Small octavo. (iv) xvi, +153pp (plus 3pp. publisher's adverts). Original / contemporary plain boards with paper-covered spine with spine label. The first edition of this translation into English of a selection of Boehme's writings. Boards quite worn but solid - there are small tears in the fore-edge margins of both the front and the rear board, the corners are well rounded, and the spine chipped with some loss. There are two interesting early bookseller's labels on the front pastedown, a couple of pages have some inoffensive pencil marginalia, and one page had some ink rules that have been largely erased. There are also a few contemporary inked numerals on one of the blanks. Still, the pages are fresh and supple, with just a little darkening, and the volume is in VG or better condition in its pleasing original state. Item #59364
