Item #59585 I-Was: A Journal of Arcadian Disturbances - Issues 1 - 4. Jonathan WOOD, Aleister Crowley: related works.

I-Was: A Journal of Arcadian Disturbances - Issues 1 - 4.

(United Kingdom): NP, 1987 - 1988. First Editions. Softcover. 4 issues. Quartos. Issue 1 approx 54pp, Issue 2 Approx 60pp, Issue 3 80pp, Issue 4 86pp. Stapled pictorial wrappers. B/w illustrations. Issue 3 is limited to 70 numbered copies, this copy numbered and SIGNED by the editor. A truly odd journal - the editors and contributors are either anonymous or hidden behind pseudonyms (i.e. "Brother Neith"). It is clearly largely Thelemic or Crowley related in content. Some of the contributions are practically "stream of consciousness" while others are quite straightforward - for example there is a long review on the Golden Dawn centenary conference (with much on the Golden Dawn itself), while an informed discussion of the booklet "Authors Take Sides on the Spanish Civil War" (which included a contribution by Crowley) sits above a humorous "advertisement" for "The ashes of Charles Cammell's copy of 'The Equinox of the Gods' found in his fireplace after a fit of religious indignation ..." Book reviews, advertisements, etc. From the library of English bibliophile and Aleister Crowley scholar Nicholas Bishop-Culpeper with his book-label tipped in at the front of Issue 1. Fanzine type production values. A little dusty, but overall VG+ condtion. Quite uncommon. Item #59585
