Susanna Cocroft (1862-1940) was the founder of the Physical Culture Extension Society and wrote a number of books on health mainly for women, including "Motherhood", "Aids to Beauty", "The Vital Organs", "Foods, their Nutrition and Digestion", & "Character as Expressed in the Body", along with this volume which offers the layperson a view of the internal workings of the body. "Body Manikin" includes a complete illustration of the human organs - with 9 overleafs allowing the reader to "remove" each organ in turn to view the next and which includes an instruction page that gives the proper order to return the organs to their proper place. The multipart illustration is delicate and could easily be damaged but in this volume is complete and intact but for some slight loosening of the full page "skin" leaf. Cloth a bit rubbed and slight darkened, small snag to cloth at mid spine, spine ends and corners lightly bruised and chafed, name and address label on front pastedown, pages a bit darkened - but still a tight, clean and complete better than VG copy.
