Item #59822 The Equinox; Volume I, Numbers I - X ( In 5 volumes ) [ Five volume set ]. Aleister CROWLEY.

The Equinox; Volume I, Numbers I - X ( In 5 volumes ) [ Five volume set ].

London: Mandrake Press & Holmes Publishing, 1992. First Facsimile Edition. Softcovers. 5 Volume Set (complete). Small Quartos. Vol. I, Nos I & II, III & IV, V & VI, VII & VIII, IX & X in yellow glossy wrappers. Approx 4400 pages in total. A complete set of a facsimile edition of the ten numbers which make up the first series (or 'volume') of The Equinox. Volume I Nos. I - X were originally published biannually between 1909 & 1913. Crowley was the editor and main author of "The Equinox," which contained a variety of poetry, fiction, and reviews - generally with esoteric themes - alongside a number of articles of occult instruction. Each number of Volume I, Nos. I - X was originally issued as a single volume, here they have been reproduced at two issues per Volume. Ironically this and the hardbound issue of the same set are the only true facsimiles of "The Equinox" Volume I, Nos. I - X, being reprinted directly from a set of the first edition, whereas the various Weiser reprints had a considerable number of alterations made (primarily to the advertisments, but also to some reviews etc.). As far as is known less than 200 sets of this edition were made. A hint of creasing to the spines of a couple of volumes, page edges of Vol. I lightly thumbed, edges of text block of other volumes show slight shelf dust / wear. Still a lovely clean near fine set of this uncommon edition. Heavy set, additional shipping will apply. Item #59822
