The Eye in the Triangle. An Interpretation of Aleister Crowley.

St. Paul, MN: Llewellyn Publications, 1970. First edition. Hardcover. Large octavo. x + 518 pp. Original black cloth, gilt title, etc. to spine, color frontis, b&w illustrations. This copy is INSCRIBED and SIGNED by Regardie on the first blank: "22 January 1971 / For Mary Hoffenberg / with warm affection from / Alice / & / Francis." The whole inscription in Regardie's handwriting. "Alice" was his then wife "Alice English" (Alice English Monsarrat, 1915-2005) and "Francis" being Regardie's actual first name, and the name by which he was known to friends and family. The First Edition of this important biographical study of Crowley by his one-time secretary and student Israel Regardie. Hint of bruising to edges of boards, page edges darkened. Previous owner's details on front pastedown (hidden by dust jacket flap) and a different owner's blind stamped seal at bottom of front free endpaper. Residue from a bookseller's label at the bottom of the front-pastedown has caused shadowing to the adjacent blank, endpapers a little discolored, otherwise a tight, clean, VG+ copy in VG+ dust jacket (dust jacket a little creased around the edges with a couple of tiny chips and tears, one slightly longer tear has been closed from the rear with archival tissue).
