England: (Privately Printed: the author), ND (ca. 1972-1974). First Edition. Softcover. Seven volumes in eight parts, here bound together as one volume. Quarto. Variously (and eccentrically) paginated, but approximately 300pp. in total. The eight parts are bound together in plain off-white wrappers. Text comprises stencil-duplicated sheets reproduced from a typescript. Various colour inserts, illustrations etc. throughout. SIGNED by Amado on one section title ("Mandamus" in Part Four). A yellow-printed "Important Notice" dated "30.7.74" and tipped onto the first page of the first six issues, advises that "this is one of the last 50 copies of this publication to be issued, and that only 100 copies have been issued previously." Amado continues that due to the deterioration of the stencils whilst in storage "I have decided that they will be destroyed after this printing." The first and only edition of the "Series of Occasional Papers" by Amado comprising various magical instructions and rituals, including pieces on sex magick, rune casting, personal rituals, séances, astral projection, etc. etc. Much amusing editorial content and several letters by Crowley (probably extracted from "Magick Without Tears.") Amado [Andrew Standish, 1930-2010], claimed to have been the illegitimate son of Aleister Crowley, and to have received occult training from the Beast, although these claims are universally dismissed by Crowley scholars. Regardless of the veracity of his claims he was an interesting character and committed occultist. These eight parts bound together do NOT have the decorated printed wrappers bound in although they do have all the inserts, including the "Important Notice" sheets at the front of each volume. We have never seen another "single volume" edition like this. It is possible that they were bound together by a previous owner or this may have been done by Amado - unfortunately we have no way of knowing. Very crude 1970s production values. Plain paper wrappers somewhat foxed, internally quite clean. Would rate as VG+ were It not for the foxing to the wrappers. Item #60002
